Taylor

Taylor Swift, the rarest pop star, is one who managed to move from the country genre to mainstream pop culture and become an iconic figure in the world of pop. She also conquered all over the world in the process. Swift removed herself from country music as if she was a second skin and showed that she had the best pop sensibility of the time. Swift was the only musician/singer to follow the zeitgeist of popular music out on the road. The skills she displayed were apparent in some of the first songs she released, most notably the neodue Tim McGraw. But on her second album Fearless which came out in 2008, Swift was able to discover her true identity and gain audiences across the globe. The album ended up with a lot of appeal not just on the U.S. where it racked seven platinum singles on the strength of the Top Ten hits Love Story and You Belong with Me but throughout the globe, performing especially well with Australia, U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift's new album Speak Now, released nearly two years following the previous one, built on this success. It propelled Swift into the spotlight. In the following three years, her popularity was growing -three times - Red (2012), Reputation (2014) in addition to 1989 (2014-2015) -- as she entered a new realm of pop in which her talent was already well-established. She stayed in the forefront of pop even after she changed her style with her sibling albums, folklore and Evermore in the year 2020.
