Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen was born 6 May 1964. He has played Troels Hartmann (Copenhagen mayoral candidate) in The Killing and [1] Charles Augustus Magnussen (third series of Sherlock) in the third series of Sherlock, as well as Russian president Viktor Petrov on Netflix's American House of Cards, and Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars Rebels. He was given the Reumert Prize of Honour in 2011. When he was 27 He enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated from that school in 1995. In addition to his role in the drama series released worldwide as The Killing,[1] the actor was also featured in two more internationally well-known Danish dramas, Those Who Kill and Borgen III. He was also a key part in the episode of BBC drama Sherlock in which he played the blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American television show House of Cards he played the president of Russia. He won an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his role in the Danish drama Herrens Veje,which was broadcast in the UK in 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm
